This was done for TIME magazine's "Best in America" issue. The art director asked me to do a portrait of Sean Penn for the "Best Actor in America" page doing what Sean Penn does second best, which is smoking cigarettes and looking pissed off. I suggested it be done in black and white and they agreed.
